Plant Head - Manufacturing Operations

The Plant Head will oversee all manufacturing operations for the Pune plant producing passenger vehicles with annual capacity exceeding 250,000 units. This senior leadership position demands expertise in production planning, quality management, supply chain coordination, and team leadership across a workforce of 2,500+ employees. The role is critical to achieving production targets, cost optimization, and maintaining Tata Motors' reputation for quality and reliability.

• Lead end-to-end plant operations including production planning, shop floor management, quality assurance, and supply chain coordination
• Achieve monthly and annual production targets while ensuring optimal capacity utilization, cost efficiency, and zero-defect manufacturing
• Drive operational excellence initiatives including lean manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement programs
• Manage plant P&L, budgets, and capital expenditures with focus on productivity enhancement and cost reduction
• Ensure workplace safety, environmental compliance, and adherence to ISO standards and automotive quality certifications
• Lead and develop plant leadership team, foster high-performance culture, and ensure talent retention and succession planning

• 15-20 years of progressive experience in automotive manufacturing with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles as Plant Head or VP Operations
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering; Master's degree or MBA preferred
• Deep expertise in automotive production systems, assembly operations, paint shop, body shop, and powertrain manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPS, TPM, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 technologies including automation and IoT
• Proven track record of managing large manufacturing facilities with 2,000+ workforce and achieving production excellence
• Exceptional leadership, change management, and stakeholder management skills with ability to drive transformation
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical thinking, and decision-making capabilities in high-pressure manufacturing environment
