Plant Head - Automotive Components

Motherson Sumi Wiring India is a leading manufacturer of automotive wiring harnesses and a key supplier to major OEMs including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Tata Motors. Part of the Samvardhana Motherson Group, the company operates multiple manufacturing facilities across India. The Plant Head will have complete P&L responsibility for the Pune manufacturing facility employing 800+ workers, producing wiring harnesses for passenger vehicles. This leadership role requires driving operational excellence, quality improvement, customer satisfaction, and team development. You will report to the Regional Manufacturing Head and interface directly with OEM customers.

• Lead overall plant operations ensuring achievement of production targets, quality metrics, cost objectives, and delivery schedules
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste
• Ensure compliance with quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 14001) and maintain zero-defect culture with OEM customers
• Manage plant P&L including budgeting, cost control, inventory optimization, and capex planning
• Build and develop high-performing teams across production, quality, maintenance, planning, and warehouse functions
• Interface with OEM customers for business reviews, new project launches, and resolution of quality or delivery issues

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• 12+ years in automotive manufacturing with minimum 5 years as Plant Head or Senior Operations Leader
• Strong expertise in manufacturing operations, production planning, quality systems, and supply chain management
• Proven track record of driving operational excellence and achieving business targets in automotive tier-1 environment
• Deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma with Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Excellent leadership and people management skills with experience leading large workforces (500+ employees)
• Strong customer orientation with experience managing OEM relationships and new product launches
