About the Role
We are hiring a Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality management systems across our steel manufacturing operations. This role involves ensuring product quality standards, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining ISO certifications for the plant.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead QA/QC operations for steel manufacturing including incoming raw material inspection, in-process quality checks, and final product testing
- Implement and maintain quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949) and ensure compliance
- Drive Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to reduce defects and improve process capability
- Manage a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and lab technicians across multiple shifts
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Collaborate with production, R&D, and customer service teams to resolve quality concerns and enhance product performance
What Tata Steel Is Looking For
- 9-12 years of experience in quality assurance in steel, automotive, or heavy manufacturing industries
- B.Tech in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline; Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
- Strong knowledge of quality tools including SPC, FMEA, MSA, PPAP, and APQP
- Experience in managing ISO/TS certifications and handling third-party audits
- Excellent understanding of steel manufacturing processes, metallurgy, and material testing methods
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities with ability to drive quality culture
- Proficiency in quality management software and statistical analysis tools (Minitab, JMP)
