Principal Engineer - Frontend Architecture

We are seeking a Principal Frontend Engineer to define and drive the frontend architecture strategy across Razorpay's product suite. You will be responsible for establishing technical standards, mentoring senior engineers, and making critical architectural decisions that impact millions of users. This is a high-visibility role working directly with CTO and product leadership.

• Define and evolve frontend architecture strategy for Razorpay's suite of products and micro-frontends
• Lead design and implementation of scalable, performant, and accessible web applications using React and modern frameworks
• Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and development workflows across frontend teams
• Drive technical excellence through architecture reviews, mentoring staff and senior engineers, and knowledge sharing
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver exceptional user experiences
• Evaluate and adopt new frontend technologies, frameworks, and tools to maintain technical competitive edge

• 10+ years of frontend development experience with at least 3 years in principal or staff engineer roles
• Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Redux, and modern frontend ecosystems
• Proven experience architecting large-scale web applications with complex state management
• Strong understanding of web performance optimization, accessibility standards, and responsive design
• Experience with micro-frontend architectures, module federation, and monorepo management
• Track record of mentoring engineers and driving engineering culture improvements
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence technical decisions across the organization
