Regional Underwriting Head

We are seeking an experienced Regional Underwriting Head to lead underwriting operations across Western India. This role involves setting underwriting guidelines, managing risk portfolios, and driving profitable growth while maintaining underwriting discipline.

• Lead and manage underwriting teams across multiple branches in the Western region
• Develop and implement regional underwriting strategies aligned with business objectives
• Review and approve high-value and complex underwriting cases within delegated authority
• Monitor portfolio performance, loss ratios, and take corrective actions to maintain profitability
• Establish and enforce underwriting guidelines, risk assessment frameworks, and pricing models
• Collaborate with sales teams to design competitive yet profitable insurance products

• 8+ years of experience in general insurance underwriting with at least 3 years in leadership roles
• Strong knowledge of motor, health, fire, marine, and liability insurance products
• Proven track record of managing underwriting portfolios with healthy loss ratios
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to assess complex risks and make sound decisions
• Insurance certifications (III, AIII, FIII) preferred
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
