Backend Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to build and scale microservices that power Swiggy's core ordering, payment, and logistics systems. This role demands expertise in distributed systems, high-performance computing, and solving complex engineering challenges at scale.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services handling millions of transactions daily using Java/Python/Go
• Build robust microservices architecture with focus on high availability, fault tolerance, and low latency
• Optimize database performance, implement caching strategies, and ensure system scalability for 10x growth
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and data scientists to deliver end-to-end features
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks to ensure system reliability and uptime
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive engineering best practices across the team

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 6+ years of hands-on backend development experience with Java, Python, Go, or Node.js
• Strong expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed system design
• Proficiency in databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and caching systems (Redis, Memcached)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles
• Prior experience in high-scale consumer internet companies or startups is highly preferred
