Plant Head - Automotive Components

Motherson Sumi Wiring India is a leading manufacturer of automotive wiring harnesses and a part of the Samvardhana Motherson Group, one of the world's largest auto component manufacturers. The company supplies to major OEMs globally and is known for operational excellence and innovation.

The Plant Head will have complete P&L responsibility for the manufacturing facility producing automotive wiring harnesses, overseeing production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and people management. This leadership role requires deep manufacturing expertise and the ability to drive operational efficiency at scale.

• Lead overall plant operations with P&L accountability for a facility with 800+ workforce and annual turnover of ₹250+ crores
• Drive production planning, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery to meet OEM customer requirements and quality standards
• Implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize productivity and reduce waste
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and customer-specific quality management systems
• Manage capex planning, maintenance schedules, and technology upgrades to enhance manufacturing capabilities
• Foster safety culture, employee engagement, and talent development programs while managing IR and compliance requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
• Minimum 12 years in automotive manufacturing with at least 5 years as Plant Head/Unit Head in Tier-1 component manufacturing
• Strong expertise in wiring harness manufacturing, injection molding, or automotive electrical systems is highly preferred
• Proven track record in managing large-scale operations, achieving quality certifications, and delivering cost optimization
• Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, and quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC)
• Excellent leadership and people management skills with ability to drive performance in unionized environments
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in customer relationship management and business development
