Senior Claims Manager

The Senior Claims Manager will oversee the end-to-end claims processing operations for motor and property insurance segments, ensuring timely settlements and operational efficiency. This role involves managing a large team of claims assessors, handling complex claim investigations, and driving process improvements. You will be responsible for maintaining loss ratios, fraud detection, and enhancing customer satisfaction through efficient claims management.

• Manage claims operations team of 30+ professionals handling motor, property, and liability claims across North region
• Review and approve complex and high-value claims ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines and policy terms
• Drive TAT improvements and achieve claims settlement targets while maintaining quality and compliance standards
• Implement fraud detection mechanisms and coordinate with surveyors, TPAs, and legal teams on suspicious claims
• Monitor loss ratios, claims frequency, and severity trends to provide insights for underwriting and pricing decisions
• Lead customer escalations and grievance resolution ensuring high NPS scores and regulatory compliance (IRDAI norms)

• 9+ years of experience in general insurance claims with at least 4 years in managerial capacity
• Strong knowledge of motor, property, and liability insurance claims assessment and settlement processes
• Bachelor's degree in any field; professional qualifications like AIII or CII (UK) highly preferred
• Thorough understanding of IRDAI regulations, Motor Vehicle Act, and Insurance Act provisions
• Excellent analytical skills for loss analysis, claims pattern identification, and fraud detection
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities with experience managing large teams
• Proficiency in claims management systems and MS Office; experience with claims automation is a plus
