Security Architect - Application Security

The Security Architect will design and implement comprehensive application security strategies across Paytm's diverse product portfolio. This role involves establishing secure development practices, conducting security assessments, driving vulnerability management, and ensuring robust protection of customer data and financial transactions.

• Design and implement application security architecture for mobile apps, web applications, and backend services handling millions of transactions daily
• Lead security assessments including threat modeling, code reviews, penetration testing, and vulnerability analysis across development lifecycle
• Establish secure coding standards, security design patterns, and development frameworks aligned with OWASP, PCI-DSS, and RBI guidelines
• Build and manage security tools including SAST, DAST, SCA, and runtime application self-protection (RASP) systems
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and promote shift-left security practices
• Respond to security incidents, coordinate vulnerability remediation, and drive continuous improvement in security posture

• 8-12 years of experience in application security, cybersecurity, or secure software development
• Strong expertise in application security testing methodologies, secure coding practices, and vulnerability management
• Deep knowledge of web application security, mobile app security (Android/iOS), and API security best practices
• Hands-on experience with security tools like Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Fortify, Checkmarx, Veracode, or similar platforms
• Understanding of cryptography, authentication protocols, OAuth, JWT, and secure session management
• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, or GIAC security certifications highly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; relevant experience in fintech/payments domain advantageous
