Principal Software Engineer - Backend

We are seeking a Principal Engineer to architect and build highly scalable backend systems for Adobe Experience Cloud. You will drive technical strategy, mentor senior engineers, and solve complex distributed systems challenges at massive scale.

• Architect and design scalable microservices handling billions of API requests daily
• Lead technical discussions and drive architecture decisions across multiple teams
• Mentor senior engineers and establish engineering best practices and coding standards
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability for global enterprise customers
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies to improve development velocity and system quality
• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders on long-term technical roadmap

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with focus on backend systems
• Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and distributed systems
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerization technologies
• Proven track record of architecting systems handling massive scale and high availability
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex production issues
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills with ability to influence without authority
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
