Principal Engineer - Telematics & IoT

We are seeking a Principal Engineer to lead our Telematics and IoT platform development initiatives. This role will drive the architecture and implementation of IoT solutions for connected vehicles, smart cities, and industrial applications. You will work on cutting-edge 5G and IoT technologies while leading technical innovation in the telecom sector.

• Define technical architecture and strategy for Airtel's IoT and telematics platforms
• Lead the design and development of scalable IoT solutions leveraging 5G, edge computing, and cloud
• Drive innovation in connected vehicle solutions, fleet management, and industrial IoT applications
• Collaborate with product and business teams to develop IoT use cases and go-to-market strategies
• Establish IoT platform standards, protocols, and integration frameworks
• Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership across IoT initiatives

• 11+ years of experience in telecom, IoT, embedded systems, or related technology domains
• Deep expertise in IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, LwM2M), cellular technologies (4G/5G), and edge computing
• Strong understanding of telematics, connected vehicles, and automotive industry standards
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, GCP IoT) and IoT device management
• Proficiency in software development with languages like C/C++, Python, Java
• Excellent understanding of security, device management, and data analytics in IoT context
• B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, or Telecommunications Engineering
