Backend Developer

The Backend Developer will design and develop high-performance microservices and APIs that power Flipkart's core commerce platform. This role involves working on distributed systems, tackling complex technical challenges at massive scale, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong Java/Golang expertise and a passion for building robust, scalable backend systems.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services handling millions of requests per day
• Build RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, or Golang with focus on performance and reliability
• Implement caching strategies, database optimizations, and distributed system patterns for high availability
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and data scientists to deliver end-to-end features
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentor junior engineers on best practices
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement monitoring and alerting solutions

• 7-10 years of hands-on backend development experience with Java, Golang, or similar languages
• Strong expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and distributed systems
• Proficiency with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and caching systems (Redis, Memcached)
• Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments
